Hornbeam stencil

I’ve been experimenting with stencils. I couldn’t find any description of how to do it so I improvised. I found a font I liked, typed HB (for Hornbeam), printed it, then stuck it to a piece of card, cut out the letters with a craft knife. Then layed the stencil on the top of the loaf and sprinkled flour over the top. It worked okay but I think I might try spraying the loaf first so the flour sticks better. Underneath the aeration of this pain au levain is visible. (Simon)
